Love me? Be my dog

Lets face it -- men are dogs. Don't get me wrong, they're also pigs, jackasses and occasionally rats. I know, I am one of them. But for now, let's talk about men, dogs and how one is better than the other.

Dogs Are Better Than Men

Earlier this year, the American Kennel Club released the results of a survey (see below) of dog owners that asked what traits they found in dogs that they wished they'd find in their mates.

Women wished that men were more like dogs by always:
      • Being in a good mood
      • Willing to spend time with you
      • Ready to cuddle up on the couch
      • Motivate you to exercise
      • Willing to eat your cooking

To be fair, women did not escape the same canine scrutiny. Men wished that women were more like their dogs by:
      • Being just as happy at home as out on the town
      • Greeting them enthusiastically when they get home
      • Not caring how much sports they watch on TV
      • Being up for anything they want to do

Then I guess there's a certain percentage of you out there who'd have some interesting things to say about spiked collars and leashes, but I think I'll save that topic for another day.

One Third Say “If My Dog Was A Man, He’d Be My Boyfriend!”

The study done for the American Kennel Club which was released earlier this year reveals:

      • When it comes to meeting women, 58% of men said a puppy is a foolproof babe-magnet in the park (only 25% said a baby is better). Forty-six percent of women said they’d stop and talk to anyone with a cute puppy.

      • Before you date a dog lover, make sure you like their dog too! A whopping 66% dog owners said they wouldn't even consider dating someone who didn't like their dog.

      • 21% of dog owners say their dog sleep with them in their bed. Keep that in mind the next time you plan on staying overnight.

      • Make sure your mate’s feelings for you are genuine! Fourteen percent admitted they might continue dating someone they didn't’t like all that much, just to spend time with their dog.
